Licensed products will begin to launch in spring 2017, including toys.
Silvergate Media has expanded its popular Octonauts brand into Spain.
The show began airing on RTVE’s kids’ channel, Clan, this month and has been enjoying a strong response.
In addition, Octonauts was also acquired by Disney Junior in Spain and Portugal last summer, with Silvergate’s spanish agent, Ypsilon negotiating the deals.
Consumer products will now begin to roll out in Spain from spring 2017, with Ypsilon signing up Editorial Planeta for a publishing launch.
In addition, Fisher-Price will launch its play-sets and vehicles, while Montichelvo and Joumma Bags will release back to school merchandise.
Ron Allen, svp commercial at Silvergate, said: “We’re delighted to partner with our friends at Clan. Spain is an important market for us and we’re thrilled to have another strong broadcast platform for Octonauts.
“We’re already seeing a strong response to the show with audience numbers building quickly.”
“We have a fantastic team of broadcast, agent, and licensing partners in place to make 2017 a big success and we look forward to announcing more key partnerships for Octonauts products.”
