Signature Publishing readies Polly Pocket magazine

Signature Publishing has teamed up with Mattel to launch an official Polly Pocket magazine, dedicated to the toy line and animated TV series.

The micro doll brand has a 30+ year heritage with over 17 million compacts sold worldwide. It is currently the fastest growing play-set doll property with toy sales up 40% and more launches planned.

The animated series, meanwhile – by Mattel Television and WildBrain – has amassed over three billion minutes of watch time and is available on Netflix, YouTube and Amazon Prime. Two new series are currently planned, along with a feature film for cinema release.

Each issue of the magazine will feature adaptations of the TV episodes, as well as puzzles, games, colouring and crafts and bespoke Polly Pocket toys.

The first issue will launch on 22 October.

“Polly Pocket has proved to be a really enduring toy property with a long legacy, just as you’d expect from Mattel (creators of Barbie), and is now bigger than ever,” commented Amanda Clifford, editorial director at Signature Publishing. “It’s a fabulous brand to create a stand alone magazine and we know that the magazine is going to be hugely popular with children and parents. So we’re delighted to be partnering Mattel on this not so tiny publishing adventure.”
