E-tailer tops AlixPartners Growth Retailer Report after making ‘huge strides’ in 2015.
It picked up The Radar Award at last year’s Licensing Awards (for retailers who have really ramped up their licensing activity in the last year), and now Shop Direct has been named the UK’s fastest growing retailer.
The e-tailer topped the fourth AlixPartners Growth Retailer Report from Retail Week.
It was praised for its ‘rapid transformation from traditional catalogue business to world-class digital retailer’.
The pureplay retailer grew profits by 78% to £71.7 million for the year ending June 30, 2015. Very.co.uk delivered sales growth of 21.1% with more than £850 million in sales.
Very.co.uk is the UK’s fastest growing department store, with 1,100 brands and 70,000 lines now on offer across clothing, footwear, electrical, home, furniture and seasonal, which includes gifts, beauty and toy.
Shop Direct/Very.co.uk has also been shortlisted in the Best High Street Fashion Licensed Brand Retailer Execution category at next month’s inaugural Brand & Lifestyle Licensing Awards.
