Retailer launch coincides with 50th anniversary of The Beatles pivotal album.
A special 50 Years of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band capsule collection is to launch exclusively at Selfridges stores in London, Birmingham and Manchester.
The launch coincides with the 50th anniversary of The Beatles’ pivotal Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album, originally released in 1967.
It will feature as part of Selfridges’ Music Matters campaign that celebrates the correlative relationship between music and style, running in-store from June 26 – October 18.
The collection – which launches on July 19 and is also available online – was produced under licence from Apple Corps and brokered by Apple Corps agent, Caroline Mickler.
It is comprised of t-shirts, long sleeve tees, sweatshirts, hoodies and a denim jacket.
It marks the latest in a line of collaborations that Bravado has put together with Selfridges. It also worked with the luxury retailer on collections for Justin Bieber’s Purpose Stadium Tour.
Upon its release, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band initially spent 148 weeks in the British chart, including a total of 27 weeks at number one. During its first US chart run, the album held the number one spot for 15 of the 88 weeks it appeared in the top 200.
It also won four Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year, and it remains one of the most influential and best selling albums of all time.
