Sesame Street takes to the LFW catwalk

JimmyPaul and Difuzed feature Cookie Monster, Elmo and friends in new fashion line.

Cookie Monster, Elmo, Big Bird and friends took to the catwalk at London Fashion Week earlier this week, with designer JimmyPaul showcasing a new collection with Difuzed.

The fun collection was presented at the ON|OFF LFW Show on February 19, held at The Store X 180 Strand.

JimmyPaul’s collection, inspired by the colourful, furry world of Sesame Street and its residents – Elmo, Cookie Monster, Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch and others – skillfully used design tools inspired by Sesame Street to present a collection that not only honoured Sesame Street’s 50 years of teaching and delighting kids all around the world, but was a celebration of show, creativity, pop culture, fashion and fun.

Difuzed – which develops lifestyle products for a wide range of gaming, entertainment, fashion, sport and consumer goods brands – will be launching a diffusion line of apparel and accessories for women based on the show.

“For this amazing show JimmyPaul skilfully adapted the charm, humour and colour of Sesame Street to produce a wonderful and stylish collection of outfits that took everyone’s breath away,” said Sole Puerto, senior creator manager at Bulldog Licensing, the UK agent for Sesame Street. “We, and many fans of fashion and Sesame Street, are now looking forward to seeing the Difuzed line based on these fabulous creations at retail.”

With Sambro on board as master plush partner, and strong sales across soft lines for both adults and kids, Bulldog is looking to expand the licensing programme for Sesame Street further across a number of categories including toys, gifts, accessories, homewares and stationery.
