Tom & Jerry, SpongeBob Squarepants, Peppa Pig also rate highly in Sky Kids survey.
New research from Sky Kids has found that Scooby-Doo is the nation’s favourite kids’ TV show – among both parents and young children.
The survey of 2,300 children aged five to nine, along with their parents, was commissioned to mark the launch of the Sky Kids app.
Scooby-Doo – which currently airs on Boomerang – picked up 23% of the vote.
This was closely followed by Tom & Jerry (22%), with SpongeBob Squarepants and Peppa Pig in joint third place (17%) and Ben & Holly at number five (14%).
Some 59% of the children said they picked a TV programme to watch because it was funny, while 47% said they like the adventures characters go on and 38% revealing they ‘love the characters’.
Adults, meanwhile, say that they like watching children’s TV as it’s nostalgic and brings back happy memories of their own childhood (29%), as well as being a great way to bond with their children (21%).
Other shows included the top ten were Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Paw Patrol, Dora the Explorer, Horrible Histories and Ben 10.
