Karrot Entertainment’s BAFTA-winning preschool series, Sarah & Duck is heading to cinemas across the UK this month with its first theatrical release.
Sarah & Duck on the BIG Screen will mark the start of an exciting year that will see renewed commercial momentum for the IP.
Rolling out nationally from 11 January, as part of Vue’s ‘Big Shorts’ programme, Sarah & Duck on the BIG Screen brings together eight of the best-loved Sarah & Duck episodes, along with two sing-along songs to create a bite-sized movie package for the show’s youngest fans.
“This collection of beloved stories celebrates everything that’s special about the world of Sarah & Duck, featuring so many fan-favourite moments that dedicated viewers will delight in seeing on the big screen, while also serving as a carefully-curated introduction to core characters for newer viewers,” commented Jamie Badminton, series producer and co-founder at Karrot. “We can’t wait for everyone to experience 60 minutes of wonder and quacky-flappy laughter.”
This is Iris has been working in partnership with a number of licensees to re-introduce Sarah & Duck back into the market.
Ahead of the Vue partnership, there have been several UK live events for the property, along with a partnership with educational resources provider, twinkl which saw the launch of multiple Sarah & Duck activities across their platform.
“Sarah & Duck is one of the UK’s great evergreen shows, loved by generations and one that guardians can rely on to delight both them and their children,” commented Sarah Lawrence, licensing director at This is Iris. “We’re thrilled to be working with Karrot and to have so many trusted partners supporting the development of this show across L&M. One final note goes out to Brand Licensing Europe whose event brought Johnny Carr and the team from Vue Cinemas to the world of Sarah & Duck. What a great way to start 2025.”
