Santoro Licensing will collect The Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade 2018.
Santoro Licensing has been awarded The Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade 2018.
The accolade is the UK’s most prestigious and highest accolade for international business success.
Santoro Licensing – founded in 1995 by Meera and Lucio Santoro – is a division of the London-based design house, Santoro, a privately owned British business founded in 1985.
The licensing division has seen 20 new licensing partners signed since October 2017 and currently works with 65 global licensing partners. Notably, Santoro Licensing has seen a 40% growth since 2016.
A major factor in the growth is the success of the Gorjuss brand. Launched in 2009, Gorjuss is now available at over 35,000 points of sale across 93 countries and has already become a £120m brand.
Speaking from the company’s head office in London, co-founder Meera Santoro (pictured above with general manager Jo Campbell), stated: “We feel incredibly proud to have received this award. Our licensing division has been responsible for many of the company’s achievements to date. It is a rare honour and one which we are immensely proud and grateful to accept.”
The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the UK’s most prestigious enterprise awards to celebrate and encourage business excellence in the UK. The accolade is in recognition of Santoro’s substantial and sustained increase in its international success.
The winners are chosen by the Queen, on the advice of the Prime Minister, and were announced on Saturday, April 21 – the Queen’s 92nd birthday.
