Royal Warrant holder Sanderson Design Group has announced the launch of the Highgrove by Sanderson collection, a range of fabrics and wallpapers inspired by Highgrove Gardens, the renowned gardens restored, nurtured and transformed by King Charles III over the past 45 years.
The gardens, which attract up to 40,000 visitors a year, surround the private residence of King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House in Gloucestershire.
The Highgrove by Sanderson collection has been created through a collaboration between the Sanderson brand, Highgrove and The King’s Foundation, a charity founded by King Charles III focused on building sustainable communities and transforming lives through education in heritage skills.
Highgrove is a commercial business based at Highgrove Gardens whose profits support The King’s Foundation, the custodian of the gardens. The collaboration developed from the Company’s work with QEST, the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust. QEST was founded 35 years ago by Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother to support excellence in making. The Company’s support for QEST includes the annual Sanderson Rising Star Craft Award.
The Highgrove by Sanderson collection, which will be launched on 1 May 2025, draws on the Sanderson archive and comprises more than 100 wallpapers, fabrics, weaves, and embroideries. The collection will be sold online, in Highgrove shops, and through the Sanderson Design Group’s global distribution network. Highgrove will receive a royalty on sales of the collection which will go to The King’s Foundation to support the charity’s valuable work.
Lisa Montague, chief executive officer of Sanderson Design Group, says: “It has been a great honour to work with Highgrove and The King’s Foundation on this wonderful Sanderson collection, which reflects His Majesty’s passion and enthusiasm for the remarkable gardens created at Highgrove. It is also an honour for Sanderson Design Group to be able to contribute to The King’s Foundation’s important charitable work through the collection’s sales.
“As a Royal Warrant holder, Sanderson is committed to excellence in design. The brand shares important values with The King’s Foundation, particularly in upholding craft skills and protecting heritage. We look forward to the launch and commercial success of this collection.”
Scott Simpson, retail director at The King’s Foundation, adds: “We are delighted to be working with Sanderson, particularly given their steadfast support for British heritage and design. In the spirit of everything we do at Highgrove, this collection has been inspired by the beautiful gardens which are open to the public for visitors to enjoy. We look forward to welcoming guests who can discover the original inspirations for the designs featured in the collection.”
