Luxury fabric and wallpaper design house, Sanderson has collaborated with Italian fashion house Moschino, revealing a series of striking ready to wear designs at the Autumn/Winter 25 runway show at Milan Fashion Week.
Sanderson – which was founded in 1860 by Arthur Sanderson – invited Moschino to explore the treasures within its historic archive for the collaboration.
The team reinterpreted the brand’s florals and illustrative botanicals with a mischievous eye. An enduring icon of English style, Stapleton Park features alongside the modern blooms of Grandiflora and the sweetheart of the archive, Etchings & Roses.
“It was thrilling to work with Moschino on this project, to see where they would take our designs and the vision for how Sanderson can so effortlessly layer into contemporary moments that push the boundaries of heritage design outside of the world of interiors,” commented Claire Vallis, design director at Sanderson Design Group. “Seeing these designs come to life in bold new ways has been incredibly exciting, with those cheeky signature twists that Moschino is so known and respected for.”
Pat Etheridge’s 90s classic, Stapleton Park, put its best floral foot forward on the Moschino runway with a voluminous fashion moment. The hand-drawn design showing bouquets of roses, foxgloves and hydrangeas was given a little ‘facelift’ with unexpected profiles in the flowerheads.
Meanwhile, in a modern twist, Sanderson designs were layered together for new pieces, showcasing recognisable designs with archive treasures in statement garments.
Etchings & Roses, for example, met with the fanciful flight of aeroplanes in a new take on the pattern, while Eton Poppy had the playful addition of black sheep, contrasting with the bright hue of the poppy petal.
