Rubber Road inks key CP deal with Lionsgate

Rubber Road has secured a new consumer products deal with Lionsgate, which will see its design arm – Numskull Designs – creating official merchandise for some of the studio’s biggest movies.

The deal – which was brokered by Lionsgate’s global CP representative, IMG – includes the John Wick franchise; the movie’s fourth iteration has currently taken in more than $247.5 million at the worldwide box office.

In addition to this, Lionsgate is celebrating a number of blockbuster milestones this year. These include the release of the next instalments in the Saw franchise, plus The Hunger Games franchise, The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, which takes place 64 years before Katniss Everdeen volunteered as tribute.

As well as the upcoming titles, Rubber Road has also licensed the rights to produce consumer products for classic Lionsgate library titles including the 30th anniversary of Quentin Taratino’s Reservoir Dogs and Rob Zombie’s horror favourites, Halloween I and II.

“We are absolutely delighted to be working with Lionsgate as they continue to extend and expand a number of their most iconic movie franchises,” commented Liam Taylor, head of partnerships and development at Rubber Road. “These films have phenomenal followings and we can’t wait to show fans what we can do with their much-loved characters.”

Merchandise from the company will include TUBBZ cosplaying collectables, quirky collectable ducks inspired by key movie characters; character-inspired ceramic drinking cups; logo lamps; countdown calendars; and Christmas jumpers.
