Royal Horticultural Society teams with artisan gardenware specialist, Arthur Jack

The Royal Horticultural Society has teamed with classic artisan gardenware specialist, Arthur Jack & Co.

The partnership with the RHS is a first for Arthur Jack and has been a major success, producing a durable yet elegant water butt made from heavy-gauge galvanised steel that is designed to be a striking focal point in any garden.

Inspired by 18th Century lead cisterns found in historic estates, its design combines heritage craftsmanship with modern functionality.

With a capacity of 225 litres, the water butt stands 80cm high and 60cm in diameter, held together by more than 80 coach bolts. Each butt is hand-assembled in England and features a hose-ready tap positioned at the perfect height for filling a watering can. A prominent RHS shield highlights the association’s endorsement.

“This Arthur Jack water butt made in England by artisan metal craftworkers has a strong appeal for a licensing campaign like ours that supports UK craft and design, but, importantly, it also performs brilliantly and looks wonderful,” commented Cathy Snow, licensing manager at the RHS. “It’s a beautifully designed, striking and very useful addition to any garden, and we are delighted to have been part of its development.”

Tim Dawson, founder of Arthur Jack, added: “For our very first foray into co-development, who better to partner than with one of the world’s leading names in horticulture. We’re thrilled to be working with the RHS, the UK’s favourite gardening charity.”
