Latest initiative will crown five new lucky golden ticket winners.
A new Roald Dahl initiative is launching in the US on March 1 to find five new lucky golden ticket winners.
Tying in with the arrival of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on Broadway on March 28, Roald Dahl’s Imaginormous Challenge is the brainchild of the Roald Dahl Literary Estate, Penguin Young Readers and Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures (in conjunction with Langley Park Productions and Neal Street Productions).
Willy Wonka himself is seeking inventive story ideas from children across the US, with parents, teachers and children themselves being encouraged to sign up at the official website.
The five winners will have the chance to see the new Broadway musical, as well as win a family trip for four to the UK (sponsored by Norwegian Air).
In addition, the winners will also get the chance to ‘wonka-fy’ their story ideas in one of five ways.
For example, the Broadway musical will turn one winning story idea into a theatrical creation, while one winner and their family will fly out to Hollywood to pitch their idea to an executive at Warner Bros. Animation.
A team of Minecraft builders will transform and reimagine the winning story idea into a playable Minecraft experience; New York Times best selling author Adam Gidwitz will work with one winner to run their idea into a short story book; while Dylan’s Candy Bar will create a 3D piece of edible candy for one lucky winner.
