The Nordic licensing agency, Rights & Brands has expanded its international footprint opening the doors of a new office in London.
Coinciding with the global expansion, the international team – Mark Bezodis, global sales director; Magdalena Biernat-Heikkinen, international sales director; and Sophie Thompson, brand manager R&C – have signed their first independent brand representation for the cult British TV brand, Roobarb & Custard, which turns 50 this year.
Working closely with the brand owners – Adam Sharp and Bernadette Shanahan – plus London-based creative business, IDEA, the images, sketches and characters from the original series have been dug out of the archives and are ready to partner with licensees and retailers which can embrace the humour, wit and style of the classic brand.
Launched in 1974, Roobarb & Custard had millions of viewers tuning in for a daily dose of animated chaos on BBC1, watching Roobarb trying valiantly to deal with some of life’s biggest little problems.
Created by Grange Calveley, Roobarb was based on his own Welsh collie.
