Primark, Matalan, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda and more marking this week’s big event.
A large swathe of licensed character dress-up is being promoted by key retailers in the run up to this week’s World Book Day.
Taking place on Thursday March 1, retailers including Primark, Matalan, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and George at Asda to name a few have thrown their weight behind the event – and have been heavily promoting licensed lines on their websites, in marketing and on social media.
Unsurprisingly, characters from the publishing world are featured heavily such as Harry Potter, Where’s Wally?, Alice in Wonderland, The Gruffalo, Roald Dahl characters including The BFG, Willy Wonka, Augustus Gloop and Veruca Salt, plus David Walliams’ characters like Mr Stink and Gangsta Granny.
Meanwhile, Disney Princess dress-up as well as super heroes including Wonder Woman, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Batman, Batgirl, Captain America and Power Rangers are also being significantly promoted.
