Special events will be celebrating The Professors of Hogwarts on February 2.
This year’s Harry Potter Book Night takes place on Thursday February 2, with a number of special events planned at book stores, libraries and schools across the country.
This year’s event will look to celebrate The Professors of Hogwarts – from the suave charm of Gilderoy Lockhart to the ‘dark complexity’ of Severus Snape.
Publisher Bloomsbury has provided special event activity kits for those hosting parties. It has also set up a dedicated Harry Potter Book Night event map, so that retailers can upload their events as well as seeing where activities are happening across the world.
As well as the retail and library activity, Bloomsbury is also running a national schools competition, asking students to invent their own magical professor.
Prizes on offer include a trip for a class of up to 30 pupils to the Warner Bros. Studios Tour London, plus a hardback box set of the seven Harry Potter books and other themed products.
A competition is also running for booksellers, librarians and teachers across the UK and Ireland to find the best decorated Harry Potter Book Night: The Professors of Hogwarts event space.
