Retail and licensees back Country Diary brand

Moonpig, Penguin, The Gifted Stationery Company among those getting behind property with new lines.

The licensing programme for the Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady brand is continuing to gain momentum at retail.

SLG enjoyed success with an exclusive Country Diary beauty and gifting range for Tesco for the Christmas gifting season.

The collection features a range of products including luxury body lotions, body wash and pampering nail sets.

In addition, Moonpig.com will launch a range of personalised floral cards in time for Mother’s Day featuring the Copyrights brand.

Penguin will be launching a new colouring book line in the spring. These will feature line drawings inspired by the original diary.

The Gifted Stationery Company will be launching its collection of social stationery across two distinctive botanical and ornithological design treatments. The collections will include products such as address books, folding wallets, notecards, shopping lists, sticky notes, folders and notebooks.

On top of this, long-term card partner The Great British Card Company is continuing to invest in ongoing new product development.

Further categories under consideration by Copyrights include bedding, crafting and fragrance.

In the US, new partners have been signed by local agent RJM Licensing which include Rizzoli for English language books – to launch worldwide in spring 2018 – while new partner Tide Mark has launched 2017 dated wall calendars.

The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady is based on the 1906 diary by British illustrator Edith Holden, who recorded the seasonal changes in flora and fauna in the English countryside with words and illustrations.

The book has sold millions of copies in its print editions globally.
