Reebok roars in with Jurassic Park collaboration

Sports brand officially reveals the full family footwear and apparel collection in partnership with Universal Brand Development.

Having teased the news earlier this month, Reebok has officially unveiled its footwear and apparel for Jurassic Park, in partnership with Universal Brand Development.

A parody news report was released by the company, giving a more detailed look at the collaboration.

The report was a breaking news segment announcing a ‘partnership’ between Reebok and InGen, the fictional bioengineering corporation responsible for recreating dinosaurs in the original Jurassic Park film, and how the two spliced sneaker and dinosaur DNA to create a collaboration some 65 million years in the making.

Each footwear model in the Reebok x Jurassic Park collection pays homage to key characters and props from the original film. All silhouettes are thoughtfully constructed with intricate details incorporated from the outsoles to the sockliners for fans of the franchise.

Highlights of the line include the Instapump Fury OG, inspired by the Jurassic Park guest vehicles; two versions of the Club C 85, one inspired by Dr Alan Grant and the other by Dennis Nedry; Classic Leather, inspired by Dr Ian Malcolm’s fascination of chaos theory; Zig Devil Kinetica, redesigned to resemble the park staff’s SUVs; Club C Legacy which pays homage to Mr DNA, the cartoon character which explains the process of recreating dinosaur DNA; the Jurassic Stomper, inspired by the uniform’s of the infield InGen staff; and the Pump Omni Zone II, which is inspired by the carnicorous Dilophosaurus.

As well as the adult-sized footwear, the line also features an additional Classic Leather and Zig Dynamica in children’s sizing, as well as a full range of complementary adult apparel.

In addition, the footwear packaging will see a portion of the boxes resembling the original Jurassic Park toy packaging from 1993. Others will draw on themes from the film including Nedry’s fake shaving cream can, the cages and padlocks used in the park to keep dinosaurs contained and Mr DNA.

The collection launches from 30 July.
