Publishing imprint teams with BBC Worldwide to help build Musers brand.
BBC Worldwide is collaborating with Puffin as part of the licensing programme for social media teenage singing duo, Max and Harvey Mills.
Max and Harvey (pictured) have been commissioned for their first ever programme by CBBC, followed by a DVD and book release.
The 14 year old Musers (the name given to the stars of social music app Musical.ly) have one of the biggest accounts in the world, with over four million subscribers and attracting millions of fans a day.
In addition, the twins have garnered over 11 million views on their YouTube channel, which features their debut song, One More Day in Love.
BBC Worldwide’s new project with the duo is a two-programme series charting a year in the life of the boys, with a DVD launching in October.
Puffin will be launching Max and Harvey’s diary: Max and Harvey: In A Book on October 19. In their own words, it will chronicle their year as their fanbase grows, the opportunities that brings and how they balance showbiz with school and adolescence.
A UK book and DVD tour is also being planned for October.
Commissioning editor for Penguin Random House Children’s, Holly Harris, commented: ‘I’m really excited about this project: Max and Harvey are such stars, and this book is an authentic insight into their life in their own words.
“It’s also about the fascinating phenomenon of instant online success – and how you handle that when you’re still so young. I hope their fans will really enjoy their funny, perceptive book.”
