Publishing trio swoop in for Super Wings

Centum Books, Signature Publishing and Kennedy Publishing now on board for preschool brand.

A trio of publishing partners have got on board with Alpha Group’s Super Wings preschool property.

Centum Books, Signature Publishing and Kennedy Publishing have all joined the rapidly expanding licensing programme, with the deals secured by UK and Eire agent, Rockpool Licensing.

Centum Books has signed up as master publisher with titles spanning colouring and activity, story books (including its Licensing Award winning Treasure Cove imprint), novelty books, ebooks, audio books, gifting formats and annuals.

The deal covers UK and Eire and English language rights for South Africa, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.

“We are thrilled to be working with the Alpha Group and Rockpool on the brilliant Super Wings brand, bringing the characters and stories to life in our publishing ranges,” said Fiona Macmillan, md of Centum Books. “The team are in ‘pre-flight check’ mode and ready to deliver our launch titles for the summer of 2019.”

Meanwhile, Signature Publishing is on board for its compilation magazine, Fantastic Funworld, while Kennedy Publishing will include the property in 321 Go!, Busy Time and Get Busy compilation magazines, as well as publishing a stand-alone Super Wings magazine in spring 2019.

“It’s a source of great pride to have these publishing partners join team Super Wings,” said Vickie O’Malley, md of Rockpool Licensing. “Centum’s track record of success in licensed publishing speaks for itself and their outstandingly distribution, especially within general and toy retail, is the perfect fit for Super Wings.

“Kennedy and Signature Publishing have both been hugely supportive of Super Wings right from the outset and we’re thrilled to have them onboard as our official licensed partners.”

Super Wings will form a key part of Alpha Group’s presence at Brand Licensing Europe next month, with the company looking to make a real impact.

Rockpool Licensing will be looking to close deals in categories including back to school, confectionery, greetings and toiletries.

Antoine Erligmann, vp media TV and consumer products at Alpha Group, commented: “We are very proud to bring on board these great publishing partners, which are an amazing addition to our current Super Wings licensees and will bring the brand to the next level in the UK.”
