Propel takes flight with Star Wars

Company confident it could be ‘one of most successful licensed products of all time’.

A potentially huge new licensed range was previewed at Star Wars Celebration 2016 at London’s ExCel last week, with the ceo of Propel believing it could be one of the most successful licensed products of all time.

The Propel exhibit featured over a million cubic feet of Star Wars environments which were brought to life by the company’s faithful recreations of the iconic Star Wars craft.

Over 24,000 units were reserved by Celebration visitors in three days with an attachment rate of over three units per customer.

“I have never seen attachment rates like this before,” commented ceo Darren Matloff. “I suspect due to the fact that these laser battle with one another coupled with the added collectability factor, consumers won’t be able to buy just one.

“We always knew we had something special, but this exclusive preview to the Star Wars Celebration fans makes me pretty certain that this will be one of the most successful licensed products of all time.”

The products are due for release in the EMEA region, most of Asia and Latin America, but currently not available in North America.

The range features four craft: the 74-Z Speeder Bike, the TIE Advance X1, the T-65 X-Wing Starfighter and the Millennium Falcon.

All craft have three speed settings, push button ariel stunts and laser battling technology.

Propel has multiple patents pending on its unique reverse propulsion technology that for the first time allows detailed ‘model quality’ ships to manoeuvre just like in the movies.

See-through polycarbonate blades help to increase the magic as they become near invisible in flight. Each ship keeps score as up to 24 fans can simultaneously battle to the finish. The craft can reach in excess of 35 mph when flying at full tilt.

Further details will be released later in the year, with an expected first ship date in late September.
