Products of Change unveils 2024 Future Forecast report

A first of its kind report analysing the global brand licensing industry’s environmental footprint and relationship with sustainable development will be available to all attendees visiting Brand Licensing Europe in London this week (24-26 September).

Compiled by Products of Change, the 2024 Future Forecast provides a detailed look into the collective impact of the leading brand owners from across the $356.5 billion brand licensing industry, as well as the many new legislative demands the industry faces.

The Report is available in both a physical and digital format to either be downloaded via the Products of Change website or collected from the Products of Change stand (A265).

It features an analysis of the collective environment impact of the top 10 leading global brand owners (by value and collated in accordance with the 2024 Top Global Licensors Report from Global Licensing Group), as well as an overview of the extended impact of brands from within the Products of Change membership community. The Future Forecast Report also provides an accessible overview of the ambitious climate goals, greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets, and the key steps that brands are taking to achieve them through efforts including waste reduction, responsible water management and innovative approaches to sustainable design and manufacturing.

Products of Change has produced and published the 2024 report to help lay the foundations of an industry benchmarking tool and a means of helping the global brand licensing industry track its progress in its collective journey towards reducing its environmental impact.

It has been launched to coincide with the onset of a ‘new era’ for businesses now facing intensifying legislative demands – including the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, Extended Producer Responsibility, and the Eco-design for Sustainable Products Regulation – that require new levels of data across greenhouse gas emissions, environmental impact, and materials use be recorded.

“As we move towards the fourth industrial revolution and a greener economy, the landscape upon which the global brand licensing industry operates is set for a significant transformation,” commented Helena Mansell-Stopher, founder and ceo at Products of Change. “To navigate this shift, the industry is going to need a robust support network, which is precisely the mission behind Products of Change.

“The Future Forecast Report is a first of its kind for the global brand licensing industry. It is also our commitment to build upon the insights and information presented within to keep the industry informed of its collective progress towards a positive and more sustainable future.

“Products of Change will be releasing a Future Forecast report every year in line with the global brand licensing industry’s development and progress, as we all take those strides forward together.”
