Prize winners galore from raffle and on stage competitions

£15,000 raised for The Light Fund from raffle, plus best joke and higher/lower winners crowned.

A host of big name prizes had the industry digging deep for the raffle at this year’s Licensing Awards.

Some £15,000 was raised on Tuesday night for industry charity, The Light Fund, with prizes generously donated by the likes of Universal, Exposé Travel, The FA, Nickelodeon, PowerStation Studios, Magic Light Pictures, Rocket Licensing, NFL, Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Formula E and TSBA.

As part of its 125-year celebrations, Smiffys donated a seven-night trip to Mauritius, worth £4,000. The lucky winner was Rosie Peck, assistant merchandiser at Next (pictured above with Dominique Peckett and Mark Schofield from Smiffys).

Meanwhile, the winner of the 2019 Best Joke in Licensing – sponsored by Beano Studios – was crowned, with Matt Goodman from Hallmark Cards named as top comedian.

His winning joke was… It’s nice to see Warner Bros has invited both Superman and Wonder Woman to The Licensing Awards… How VERY DC!

In addition to this, Kids Insights held an entertaining game of Higher/Lower before the awards kicked off.

Eno Polo, president of Global Brands Group, was the lucky winner of a two-night break for two people at Appleby Manor in the Lake District.
