Primark’s Cruella range causes a stir on social media

Fast fashion retailer’s Cruella-inspired loungewear set is a hit with fans as new movie releases in cinemas and on Disney+.

Primark has once again worked its social media magic, with the fast fashion retailer’s new Cruella-inspired loungewear causing a stir among Disney fans.

The retailer highlighted the new set – which includes a vest top, jumper and shorts in both white and black – in two separate posts on its Instagram page, ahead of the release of the eagerly anticipated movie and on launch day itself (28 May).

Between them, the two posts have notched up 53,900 likes.

Cruella – which stars Emma Stone in the role of the iconic villain from Disney’s 101 Dalmatians – was launched simultaneously in cinemas and on Disney+ on 28 May. It took £1.5 million from 522 locations in its first weekend, rising to £1.9 million following Bank Holiday Monday (31 May), according to Screen Daily.
