Homewares licensee to further expand its patterns into new products.
Metrostar is to work with homewares licensee Portmeirion, expanding a selection of its patterns into new products.
The Portmeirion Group encompasses Portmeirion, Spode, Royal Worcester, Pimpernel and Wax Lyrical brands.
Metrostar’s strategy is to select partners which complement Portmeirion’s current product offering. It will be looking in particular at stationery, toiletries and beauty, bags and accessories, home textiles, home décor, greetings and wrap, fashion and accessories and decorative gardening and outdoor products.
Metrostar will showcase the brand on its stand at Brand Licensing Europe next month.
Phil Atherton, Portmeirion’s group sales and marketing director commented: “We have extended many of our patterns from their tableware roots into kitchen textiles, placemats and home fragrance and we feel the time is right to explore other possibilities.
“Metrostar share our desire to create high-quality, well-designed products and we’re delighted to be working with them.”
Claire Potter, Metrostar’s md, added: “We have known Portmeirion for a long time and love their craft, their heritage and their creativity. They have a wonderful mix of contemporary and classic patterns; which are ideal for extension into new areas and we’re looking forward to showing them at BLE.”
