The first official fundraiser of 2025 got industry charity, The Light Fund, off to a flying start last week, with the Northern Quiz Night raising some £10,000.
Held at Hotel Football in Manchester on Thursday 20 March, the event attracted 160 executives from across the industry, with companies including H&A, Smiffys, Barclays, Imagine8, Blues Group, Start Licensing, Bulldog Licensing, Max Publishing, ToyTopic, Paramount, Penguin Ventures, All3media, Bioworld, Dependable Solutions, Aykroyds, Character World Brands, TDP Textiles, Amscan, Roy Lowe, Hasbro and Cooneen in attendance.
The winners – topping the leaderboard with 82 points was Blues No Clues, made up of Imagine8 and Blues Group and co-captained by Norman Thompson and Ruth Golightly (main picture above).
At the other end of the table, with 48 points and taking home the ‘Big Pants’, was AndGru Dunns’ Quizpicable Me (pictured below), made up of Seneca Partners and CG Professional. Members are trustees of the Inspire Charity in Chorley which is one of the charities The Light Fund has supported in the past.

The traditional raffle raised just under £1,000, while an auction – ably presided over by David Aykroyd – included items such as a signed Newcastle United football shirt, which raised £600 in bids alone.
