Pokémon hits the catwalk with Jeremy Scott

Collaboration with designer sees Pikachu star at New York Fashion Week.

Pokémon has collaborated with fashion designer Jeremy Scott on several garments for both men and women in his new spring 2019 ready-to-wear collection.

Popular character Pikachu features on eye-catching tops, skirts and dresses in his Future Shock collection, which was presented during New York Fashion Week last week.

Influenced by a spectrum of pop culture icons, the new collection takes a trip down memory lane for the designer as a post-millennial Jeremy references influences from his 1996 self, who drew inspiration from characters living in another world, in another time.

In addition, Jeremy will launch a spring/summer 2019 kids’ collection for boys and girls, featuring the same Pikachu pattern used for his adult range that will be available from January next year.

His Pokémon range will be available in high-end department stores and specialist boutiques, in select countries across Europe and the Middle East, plus North America and Australia as well as on the Jeremy Scott website.

Pikachu’s profile looks set to rise even further over the coming months: the character features in new video game Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! – along with Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! – launching on November 16 exclusively on Nintendo Switch; while November 24 sees the worldwide cinema release of Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us.

The Detective Pikachu live action movie – starring Ryan Reynolds and Bill Nighy – is also planned for 2019.
