Millimages series makes US debut; is number two most watched programme on Milkshake.
Millimages’ Pirata & Capitano is charming preschool audiences across the globe, making its debut in the US and also making waves across Europe.
The CGI series – which follows Pirata as she travels the Great Sea at the helm of her ship, the Pink Skull – premiered on Discovery Family Channel in the US on June 16.
Co-produced by France Télévisions and Italy’s Rai, Pirata & Capitano is also currently airing on France 5, Tiji (France), Rai Yoyo (Italy), SVT (Sweden), YLE (Finland), RUV (Iceland), CJ Tooniverse (South Korea), TV3 (Spain), Gloob (Brazil), Bein (Middle East), Canal+ (Poland), Gulli (Russia), D-Smart (Turkey), MTVA (Hungary), ETV (Estonia), ERT (Greece), LTV (Latvia) and Balapan (Kazakhstan).
In addition, Pirata & Capitano is the number two most watched programme on Channel 5’s Milkshake, according to a recent study conducted by Mediametrie/Eurodata TV Worldwide, which was released during MIPTV.
Season two of the show is in production with delivery of 52 11-minute episodes set for the first quarter of 2020.
