Endemol Shine Group to represent range of rights including gaming and publishing.
Endemol Shine Group is to launch a licensing drive for hit BBC Two show, Peaky Blinders.
A range of global ancillary rights will be looked at for the gangster family epic including gaming and publishing.
Peaky Blinders – which stars Cillian Murphy and Sam Neill – has been broadcast on BBC Two since 2013. The fourth series was the channel’s biggest drama series of 2017, with an average of 3.3 million consolidated figures.
It had a peak episode volume of 3.6 million for the series finale, the biggest audience for an episode of Peaky Blinders ever. A fifth series of Peaky Blinders has been confirmed for 2019.
Peaky Blinders will now form a key part of Endemol Shine Group’s presence at Licensing Expo in May.
Owain Walbyoff, md gaming, licensing and merchandising at Endemol Shine Group, said: “Peaky Blinders is an incredibly unique show and a great addition to our portfolio, as we diversify our brand licensing offerings with exceptionally strong scripted IP.
“The series is globally loved, and the world of Peaky Blinders offers exciting opportunities for the brand to expand its off-air engagement with fans around the world.”
Show creator Steven Knight added: “Peaky Blinders has become an international phenomenon and has entered the culture in many countries.
“We have more series planned and will begin shooting series five in September so the brand will only continue to grow. I look forward to seeing the family saga become a lifestyle.”
