Parragon secures Warner Bros. CP deal

Multi-year, multi-property deal inked for range of books and gifts from studio’s portfolio.

Parragon has sealed a multi-year, multi-property deal with Warner Bros. Consumer Products UK.

The global agreement will see the publisher launch a range of books and gifts for a number of properties from the studio’s entertainment portfolio.

These will include Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Justice League, DC Super Friends and Scooby-Doo.

The first products to launch to be a new collection of annuals for Batman, Superman and Scooby-Doo, hitting UK retail in August.

Following the launch of the annuals, Parragon will develop and launch branded products utilising many of its most successful formats, including Happy Tins which is an activity gift tin that includes books, posters, stickers and felt tip colouring pens, storybooks, colouring and sticker books and innovative new product designs including Comic Art Books.

The products will be available in the UK, North America, Australia and Asia, rolling out from autumn 2016.

Vickie Voss, global licence director at Parragon, said: “The Warner Bros. Consumer Products portfolio is a publisher’s dream. It is truly iconic, rich in content and genuinely diverse in that it features a character for everyone.

“We’re delighted to have the opportunity to combine our publishing expertise and knowledge of developing engaging formats to create products that bring these world class entertainment properties to life on page.”

Preston Kevin Lewis, general manager, Warner Bros. Consumer Products UK and Ireland, added: “I am thrilled to be in partnership with Parragon.  Vickie and her team have a proven ability of developing innovative licensed products whilst always protecting the core DNA of our characters and properties.

“This coupled with Parragon’s excellent consumer insight and its vast global retail network will drive significant mutual publishing growth.”
