A window depicting Paddington Bear products from licensee Eddingtons and cut-outs of the famous character along with a marmalade sandwich appearing from a black handbag is delighting customers at The Kitchen Range Cookshop in Market Harborough.
The window, which also displays kitchenware for making marmalade, follows on from Her Majesty The Queen’s sketch with Paddington Bear – a highlight of the Platinum Jubilee BBC TV coverage on 4 June.
“After watching the Queen with Paddington, I couldn’t resist transforming our Jubilee Union Jack window into a Paddington window featuring all the fantastic products from Eddingtons and not forgetting the Queen’s handbag including the all-important marmalade sandwich,” commented Jade Johnston, director of The Kitchen Range Cookshop.
The Queen delighted the nation by having afternoon tea with Paddington and revealing her emergency snack – the marmalade sandwich in her handbag. In addition to the handbag and marmalade equipment, the window at The Kitchen Range Cookshop features a teapot, loaf of bread and a jar of Marmalade.
Jade added: “Customers are loving the new window and we are receiving lots of lovely comments on it.”
