OZZFEST to be first real life music festival to enter the metaverse

OZZFEST – the iconic global touring hard rock music festival launched by Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne – has announced its full artist line-up, along with a first-look of its much anticipated OZZFEST experience.

Ozzy Osbourne, Motorhead, Megadeth, Black Label Society, Skid Row and Britoff will be topping the bill as confirmed acts, as OZZFEST becomes the first IRL festival in music history to enter the metaverse.

Developed by Global Merchandising Services and Sutter Systems, the event will take place in Decentraland from 10-13 November with its own dedicated land parcel including two stages as part of the Metaverse Music Festival, OZZFEST will be free for all to attend, with no VR, ticket or headset required.

The festival will also include VIP viewing access and free wearable merchandise exclusively for Ozzy Osbourne’s famed NFT CryptoBatz holders. These will be redeemed via main stage ‘Potion Stations’ where CryptoBatz NFT holders will be able to ‘take a potion’, transform into a at and fly to a private balcony to watch the shows from a much closer viewpoint. This is in addition to claiming free, exclusive wearables.

Unlike previous in real life festivals, the stage for OZZFEST in the metaverse promises to be unconstrained by the boundaries of reality, set in a sprawling gothic castle with a giant OZZFEST logo emblazoned on the front, offering hard rock fans a totally unique one-of-a-kind experience.

With the Decentraland Metaverse Music Festival attracting over 50,000 unique attendees over four days in 2021, the 2022 edition is set to be even bigger. It will feature 15 stages (including OzzFest), and over 100 artists across uniquely curated stages, showcasing the next frontier of metaverse – with newly created, Web3-enabled, immersive music experiences.

To date, OZZFEST is the only metal/rock festival of its kind to be hosted virtually.
