Bahoma on board to create range of candles and home fragrance collections.
The licensing programme for the University of Oxford continues to grow, with international home fragrance company Bahoma coming on board.
The five-year deal – brokered by Global Icons, which will represent Oxford at Brand Licensing Europe next week – will see Bahoma create a range of candles and home fragrance collections for European and UK retailers.
The initial ranges will feature a mix of branded and content driven themes inspired by the University.
In time for Christmas, there will be a collection of fragranced candles presented in jewel coloured boxes that aim capture the excitement and tradition of the Michaelmas term at Oxford.
Also in development is a collaboration with the University’s Botanic Garden – the oldest botanic garden in Great Britain, founded in 1621.
“Right from the start we felt this partnership was a really good fit for the University brand,” said Oxford md, Chris Evans. “Bahoma’s senior management team has taken the company from kitchen table to warehouse scale production and are passionate about their product and our brand.”
James Bruce, md of Bahoma, added: “Partnering with Oxford University was one of the easiest decisions we have ever made. With Oxford’s wealth of content, deep, prestigious history and provable dedication to quality, we felt the brand was an ideal fit with Bahoma’s own pedigree and values.
“Coupled with enthusiastic and supportive guidance from both Global Icons and the senior management of Oxford, we are ready and excited about exploring the, almost limitless, opportunities presented.”
