Dot Dash creates new teddy bear characters as University eyes further licensed growth.
Oxford has developed its own teddy bear characters for a new style guide focused on children’s categories.
Originally inspired by the best-selling bear at the University of Oxford Shop in Oxford, the characters – Edward and Emily – were created by design agency Dot Dash, along with the accompanying University of Oxford Junior style guide and branding.
Character art, graphic treatments, patterns and badging – all inspired by the University of Oxford and its colleges, traditions, Oxford cityscape and dreaming spires – feature in the style guide, along with plenty of product inspiration pages across the apparel, toy and game, stationery and gifting categories.
“The University of Oxford Junior style guide and teddy bear characters will provide Brandgenuity and Oxford’s other agents around the world with a relevant and appealing new aspect to the brand, in order to generate new licensing deals in children’s categories,” commented Chris Evans, md of Oxford Limited.
