The Original Stormtrooper licensing programme from Shepperton Design Studios is expanding into new categories, territories and worlds in 2022.
New categories launching include Fred & Gingers Original Stormtrooper Dog Treats; Galactic Empire’s Stormtrooper Coffee; Gibsons Troopers on Tour jigsaw puzzle; and Groovy UK’s Stormtrooper beach towels.
When it comes to new territories and sub-agents, Merchantwise is on board in Australia, while Joon International is handling South Korea. Plush, arts and crafts and apparel licensees will be launching product in 2022.
Finally, the Original Stormtrooper programme in entering the metaverse with a complete range of exclusive NFTs due to launch soon on multiple platforms.
“Because of our great new graphics and the consistent emphasis on fun and humour, existing licensees have seen strong growth in sales,” commented Adam Bass, director of Golden Goose. “It’s great to be able to say that the year ahead is looking very promising.”
Andrew Ainsworth, director at Shepperton Designs Studios, added: “Now in its sixth year, the Original Stormtrooper is going from strength to strength – with lockdown seemingly making this licensing programme even more desirable than it was before.”
The brand’s next target is growth at retail, with potential licensees invited to meet with Golden Goose at Brand Licensing Europe later this month (stand C200).
