The 40th anniversary of comedy classic, Only Fools and Horses is being marked by UKTV’s Gold reconstructing the Nags Head pub.
The Farringdon pop-up will open to the public between midday and 9pm on 3-4 September, reported Campaign. Slots are allocated per table, of up to four people, for 45 minutes.
The replica of the pub featured in the long-running series will feature the traditional wooden bar, the red checkerboard floor and even the ashtrays. A pint will cost 83p – the price it cost in the 1980s when the show was launched.
Fans will be able to recreate some of their favourite moments from the pub, test their knowledge with a pub quiz and enjoy the retro-priced drinks alongside a selection of classic bar snacks – including scampi fries – from the era.
Gold will also be marking the anniversary by showing the first episode of Only Fools and Horses at 8.30pm on 8 September – the same date and time that it aired in 1981. The whole series will be aired throughout September.
“We’re excited to be able to celebrate 40 years of Only Fools and Horses, the nation’s favourite sitcom, with our recreation of the iconic Nags Head pub,” commented Gerald Casey, Gold channel director.
