Some 200 people packed into Manchester’s Bierkeller to raise funds for industry charity.
Last night’s Northern Light Fund St Patrick’s Day Fun Night was another roaring success, with some £12,000 being raised for the industry charity.
Around 200 licensors, licensees and retailers made the journey to Manchester, taking part in a special race night – involving both horses and pigs.
The St Patrick’s Day theme was particularly embraced by Rubie’s (main picture) who took full advantage of the dress up closet, while Ben Lowe and Rob Broadhurst from Roy Lowe & Sons used the occasion to indulge in a spot of ostrich walking (see below).
As well as the races, the event also included a raffle and some rather… ahem… tuneful singing.
It was put together by The Light Fund’s Northern committee, which includes GB eye, Roy Lowe & Sons, Aykroyds & Sons and Dreamtex.
“With the amount raised by The Light Fund having just passed the £900,000 mark, we are now into the final furlong as we chase the magic £1 million,” commented Jakki Brown, co-founder of The Light Fund and joint md of Max Publishing.
“Last night’s event was another great occasion, with the Northern committee doing a sterling job.”
Martin Lowe from Roy Lowe & Sons added: “It was another entertaining Light Fund event with everyone embracing the race night formula, which looks like raising a staggering £12,000.00 in the light funds quest to hit the £1 million raised this year.
“On a lighter note, my two partners in crime pulled a couple of birds so everyone’s a winner…”
