Nike grows partnership with NYC Parks Department

Official partnership with city of New York will include product and experiences.

Nike has secured a new official partnership with the city of New York – the first of its kind for the brand in North America – to produce product and create experiences that align to important sport and community moments in the city.

The new partnership is a continuation of the existing relationship between the brand and the NYC Parks Department.

“For more than five years, NYC Parks and Nike have worked together to benefit New Yorkers across the city – from the Bronx to Staten Island – by investing in parks and programming that connect communities through sport,” said NYC Parks Commissioner Mitchell J. Silver, FAICP. “The new product collaboration between our iconic brands celebrates this long partnership by showcasing the real people who care for our parks every day in order for all of us to have access to world class parks.”

Product includes the AF1 – All for 1 – NYC, which is inspired by parks across the city, paying homage to many of the spaces that Nike has supported including the Gersh Park Basketball Courts (pictured). It boasts a park-themed outsole, chain link mesh panels, 3M high-visibility accents and interchangeable Velcro patches.

The associated 12-piece apparel collection includes a cotton crew t-shirt featuring the NYC Parks logo, plus a club fleece and joggers.

The collection is due to launch on December 5.
