Rocket Licensing has revealed the first UK partners for Sony Pictures Animation’s hotly tipped The Emoji Movie. Centum Books will look to build the publishing category; Smith & Brooks is on board for kids’ apparel; TDP/Aykroyds will produce kids’ nightwear and underwear; Pyramid International has signed for posters and stationery; Dreamtex will create a range of bedding; and Whitehouse Leisure will develop plush for the leisure sector.

The Powerpuff Girls is set to launch on Gulli in France and on Disney Channel in Germany from March. This follows on from last November’s debut on CITV and on free to air Italian channel, Boing. The first wave of product for the Cartoon Network property has also begun to roll out across EMEA. The merchandise launch is spearheaded by Spin Master’s toy range with fashion, accessories, gifting, homewares, personal care, FMCG and back to school products following shortly.

Elmer the Patchwork Elephant has enjoyed a strong start to 2017, securing a plinth end display of new apparel in Sainsbury’s. The babywear, from Paul Dennicci and Aykroyds, is joined by Elmer plush from Rainbow Designs. Andersen Press has been working with Metrostar to launch Elmer into apparel and this is the first of a small number of collections planned for retailers in 2017.

The Roald Dahl Literary Estate has signed Creative Tops as master homewares licensee. The company will now launch an extensive range spanning all areas of home and kitchenware including the likes of mugs, travel mugs, tinware, bakeware, melamine and more.

The Furchester Hotel – the co-production by Sesame Workshop and CBeebies – is to begin streaming on Netflix in multiple territories.

FremantleMedia Kids & Family has signed up ProSiebenSat.1 Licensing as the licensing agent in Germany and German speaking territories for Danger Mouse. The company will be representing both the new rebooted version and the Classic animated series.

Bravado has secured a deal with emoji company GmbH to become its exclusive licensing and merchandise partner for the brand in the UK, ROI, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland.

Hoho Entertainment has begun production on Shane the Chef, a new preschool animation for Channel 5’s Milkshake. Entirely produced in the UK, the series is being animated by Cloth Cat Animation in Cardiff with the first episodes due for delivery this autumn.

Games and puzzle specialist Paul Lamond has launched a new line of We’re Going on a Bear Hunt products. The range includes a 4-in-1 Games Cube, a Memory Card Game and a 24-piece Jumbo Floor Puzzle.

Universal Brand Development has appointed One Latino as the licensing agent for the Telemundo Network in the US and Canada.

The ThinkTank Emporium has teamed with Edutainment Licensing to develop licensing opportunities for Super Geek Heroes and Tiny Tusks in the US and Canada.

An official Betty Boop diner is now open in Shimbashi, Tokyo. The restaurant was officially licensed by King Features through a deal brokered with Food Business Consultant by King’s Japanese agent, Copyrights Asia.

Storybook Cosmetics is collaborating with the Roald Dahl Literary Estate on a new eyeshadow palette inspired by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The palette will come in a life-size custom hardcover storybook and features 12 ‘Whipple-Scrumptious’ colours.

HTI has appointed Emma Pilgrim to the role of assistant product manager, as well as promoting Rebecca Law to junior product manager.
