Candyking – the largest pick and mix confectionary brand in the UK and Europe – is to get its own licensing programme, courtesy of Suited Brands. Kimm & Miller is the first licensee on board, with the company creating a dedicated gifting line. Other categories which Suited Brands have identified include healthy and beauty, advent calendars, home fragrance and FMCG (such as ice lollies and soft drinks).

Italian football club, Inter Milan has signed up Las Vegas-based One Entertainment as its licensing agent in the US and Canada. The first products from the deal are expected to be available from the summer.

Jazwares has been named as the US master toy partner for eOne’s Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom property. The first wave of product is due to hit retail from August.

Online kids’ network Wildbrain has partnered with Turner International to manage a number of Turner Kids YouTube channels in Europe, EMEA and Latin America. The agreement will see Wildbrain extending the international exposure of key Turner brands.

Zoobe Message Entertainment has partnered with Peanuts Worldwide for the launch of a new StoryGIF app for iOS and Android.

A keynote address focusing on Harvard research on kids and kindness will kick off the 2017 Kidscreen Summit next month. Dr Richard Weissbourd, director of the Human Development and Psychology programme at the US university, will present a study exploring why and how we are ‘unconsciously undermining the development of empathy and caring’ in today’s children. The Kidscreen Summit takes place in Miami from February 13-16.

eOne has confirmed a number of broadcast sales for its new 2D animated comedy, Winston Steinburger and Sir Dudley Ding Dong. Cartoon Network in France and public broadcaster OUFtivi in Belgium have picked up broadcast rights to the first series – it will begin airing in France from February and in Belgium from June. The news follows the January 2 broadcast premiere of the show on Canada’s Teletoon.
