The expansion of collectables brand Shopkins is continuing, with three new food licensees coming on board. Finsbury Food has been signed for celebration cakes, Lightbody Ventures has picked up biscuits, while Kinnerton has secured confectionery. Existing licensees for the brand – which is handled by Bulldog Licensing – include BCI, Gemma, Blueprint, Flair, Aykroyds, Spearmark, Winning Moves, Pyramid and VMC among others.

DHX Media has signed seven international distribution deals with broadcasters and video-on-demand services for its comedy series, Endangered Species. CBBC in the UK has picked up the show for broadcast, along with Turner Broadcasting System Latin America (for Cartoon Network and Boomerang), Gulli Russia, Plus Plus Channel in Ukraine, Israel’s ZOOM, Daekyo Kids TV in South Korea and iflix in South East Asia.

The first Deer Little Forest app has launched for iOS and Android devices. Created by preschool specialist Playrific, the app features the distinctive artwork and existing material of Deer Little Forest to construct 18 assets. These include match 3 games, puzzles, colouring pages, drag and drop, memory cards, maker games and more. The app will be available in the Googleplay, Kindle and iTunes stores in mid December, while preschool magazine partner – Get Busy – will support the launch in its December holiday issue.

Rocket Licensing has been appointed to manage the worldwide licensing campaign for DIY SOS. An initial product range will be centred around improvement for homes and gardens in categories such as publishing, textiles, apparel and accessories, tools, games and toys, plants and gardening, retailer driven promotions, live events and apps.

Wow Stuff has become the master gift licensee for The Great British Bake Off. The company is aiming to make it the number one selling gift brand in its sector for 2016. The range will include tea sets, cake stands, storage containers and baking themed accessories.

Toby’s Travelling Circus from Komixx Media Group has been acquired by American Spanish-language TV network, Vme TV. The network is broadcast in 43 markets by PBS stations to over 70 million households.

Egmont has confirmed the four writers of the next Winnie the Pooh sequel – The Best Bear in all the World. Due to be published in October 2016, the anthology of four stories will be written by Paul Bright, Jeanne Willis, Kate Saunders and Brian Sibley.
