Including the first ever licensing programme for the Star Trek franchise in China.

CBS Consumer Products has unveiled a new merchandising slate for Star Trek Beyond in China – marking the first ever licensing programme for the franchise in the territory. Leading the drive is Alibaba which will showcase a full range of products, from USB drives, headphones, outdoor and active goods, through to toys, action figures, apparel and accessories to name a few. Additional licensees include China Film (accessories and collectables) and Mtime (wearable and portable merchandise).

Viacom International Media Networks has signed a global licensing deal with Dr Martens to bring MTV’s Beavis and Butt-head to footwear and apparel. The collection will include two different pairs of Dr Martens signature 8 eye boots, plus a t-shirt and large leather backpack. This marks the second collaboration between VIMN and Dr Martens – the two companies worked together on a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-branded line earlier in the year.

DHX Brands has appointed ten new UK licensees for the Teletubbies property. New licensees include Alligator, Euroactive, Finsbury Foods, Sambro, Solutions EU, Spearmark, Ultimate Products Global Sourcing, Vivid, Walltastic and William Lamb. Deals were brokered by CPLG UK.

Zodiak Kids has taken on the CP rights for new CBeebies preschool series, Tee & Mo. The show tells the story of little monkey Tee and his first time monkey mum Mo as they navigate the daily ebbs and flows of jungle life. The property has already had online success for CBeebies with games, shorts and music videos. Zodiak Kids will be showcasing the brand on its BLE stand next month.

Jumbo Games is teaming up with Mattel to produce a range of Thomas & Friends foam puzzles in the UK. The line will launch in January and will include Jumbo’s foam puzzle formats, Giant Foam Floor Puzzle and 4in1 Shaped Bath Puzzles.

Smiley has teamed up with Ibiza super club, Sankeys. The promotion has seen the brand at the heart of the club’s events, while it features heavily in the club’s production activations throughout its global venues. The Sankeys team has also been armed with Smiley flags, stickers and a variety of promotional materials through the summer.

Ink Global has confirmed that new animation The Mojicons will air across Greece on Nickelodeon. The show will premiere on Sunday September 11.

The Care Bears brand was celebrating National Care Bears #ShareYourCare Day on September 9 with a raft of activity. The brand joined 13 year old Jessica Carscadden of the We Care Bears Project for a donation of 500 plush toys to the Spark of Love charity. In addition, the Festival of Children Foundation also teamed up with the Project, while Care Bears aligned with 300+ digital influencers to spread the message.

The Ladies Professional Golf Association has opened its first retail store – LPGA Gallery – in South Korea, in partnership with MK Trend. The company has plans to open more than a dozen stores in and around Seoul, followed by a target of 100 stores by 2018. The Brand Liaison handles LPGA licensing in the US.

LA-based Creative Licensing has added Puppet Master, Creature and Parasomnia to its roster of iconic horror films. The trio will be presented on the company’s stand at BLE.
