The Licensing Expo 2016 Opening Night Party is relocating to a new venue – The Havana Room & Sky Beach Club at Tropicana Las Vegas. Sponsored by LIMA, the networking event will take place on Tuesday June 21, following the first day of the show. 1950’s rock n roll tribute band Winter Dance Party will perform.

Three people are facing jail for their part in an operation selling fake goods worth tens of thousands of pounds – including One Direction clothing. Clothes bearing false trademarks were sold on eBay between 2009 and 2012. The successful prosecution followed a covert operation by Surelock, working on behalf of TRAP (Trade Mark and Rights Holders Against Piracy). They identified eBay sites and made test purchases of counterfeit merchandise, then worked with Plymouth Trading Standards to identify the offenders and raid the premises.

Sanrio has teamed with ECVacanze and Nestle Gelati Motta for the launch of three fully-themed Hello Kitty holiday homes in Italy. Two of the holiday homes will be near Lake Garda in ECVacanze’s Altomincio Family Park, with the third located near Rome in the I Pini family park.

Carte Blanche has added to the stable of Me to You licensees, welcoming crafting company Avec to the fold. The first product collection will be available exclusively at The Range from autumn/winter and will include a bespoke photo-finish Tatty Teddy papercraft range. This will be made up of designer papers, stamps, card kits, decoupage packs and accessories.

The Pokémon Company International has partnered with British artist Quentin Devine to create the world’s largest trading card mosaic – containing 12,987 individual Pokémon Trading Card Game cards. The work of art – which forms the original iconic pose of Pikachu – measures 71.54 square metres and hangs over ten metres tall and seven metres wide.

Planeta Junior has been appointed by eOne as the licensing agent for The BFG in Spain. In addition to expanding distribution for existing deals in Spain, the company will be seeking new licensees in the toy, homeware, gifting, stationery and apparel categories.

Cartoon Network has appointed TLC as its licensing representative across France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Benelux. TLC will be working with CN’s portfolio of original animated properties including Adventure Time, The Powerpuff Girls, the new look Ben 10 and The Amazing World of Gumball among others.

SmileyWorld is to launch a new line of beauty products with Admiranda. The range includes a wide selection of body care products such as bath and shower gel, lip balm, body mist, hair brushes, toothbrushes/pastes and gift sets, all using SmileyWorld’s directory of over 3,000 Smileys.

TF1 Licences is to represent The Smurfs in France, following a deal with IMPS.

Turner Broadcasting cable network Adult Swim is targeting millennials with a new #wrongbutright campaign. This is the first EMEA above the line marketing campaign for the channel, with kicks off across the UK, Sweden and Germany this week. The mobile video campaign uses clips from the channel’s eclectic, surreal comedy shows to drive to Adult Swim’s content on Spotify.

Animated special We’re Going on A Bear Hunt has secured four overseas deals with key broadcasters. Produced by Lupus Films and Walker Productions, the film has been sold to ABC in Australia, SVT in Sweden, NRK in Norway and YLE in Finland.

Wall graphic specialist, Walls 360 has launched a new colouring line with artist Caleb Gray. The line of decals features Caleb’s signature bold, contemporary art with a retro vibe.
