Metrostar has revealed three new licensing partners for The Scout Association. Collectables company Danbury Mint has partnered with Steiff to develop a limited edition Cub Scout bear to celebrate the centenary in 2016. In addition, teNeues will launch the first Scouts wall calendar later this year, while Spineless Classics is making reference to original Scouts material as it launches its framed print reproduction of Scouting for Boys.
DHX Brands has signed five new UK consumer products licensees for the Teletubbies property. Kokomo, HTI, Bladez Toyz, Misirli and Whitehouse have all joined the licensing programme for the preschool hit.
Magic Light Pictures has kicked off the licensing programme for Stick Man. Aurora, Ravensburger and Sainsbury’s are already on board with the brand, while this year will see Fabric Flavours launch two children’s t-shirts and Specsavers introduce a reading frame. The Stick Man: Helping Santa app also proved a hit over the Christmas period, while the BBC1 adaptation will be available on DVD from February 1.
Italian sportswear brand, Sergio Tacchini has renewed its exclusive licensing deal with IMG. The multi-year deal comes as Sergio Tacchini prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary later in 2016.
The FunFest Blogger Summit will be returning for its second year on Saturday September 10. The one-day conference, networking and brand ambassador programme is organised by MI PR Global. It will host guest speakers from the world of blogging, covering a number of topics including how to create a successful partnership for both brand and blogger, and looking at the impact of children’s digital footprint in the online universe.
Masha and the Bear – Friends Forever has proved a hit with Italian audiences. Around 700,000 people across Italy enjoyed the feature, which was distributed by Warner Bros. Entertainment Italia, at cinemas – leading to total box office takings of €4,340,000. The package introduced audiences to eight episodes never seen before on TV. It was screened at 500 cinemas across the country from December 23 to January 10.
Warner Bros. Consumer Products has teamed up with 11-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champions, Hendrick Motorsports, to promote Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The deal will feature two special paint schemes for drivers Dale Earnhardt Jr and Jimmie Johnson.
Emerald Expositions has partnered with SPLiCE on its portfolio of licensed events. SPLiCE – Society of Product Licensors Committed to Excellence – was founded in 2004. The partnership will provide brands with membership benefits and marketing support for events including Brand Licensing Select, The Sports Licensing and Tailgate Show and Surtex.
German brand management and media company, m4e, has signed a long-term co-production, distribution and consumer products partnership with Planeta Junior.
Studio 100 has confirmed that Maya the Bee will be launching on DVD in the UK and digital download from February 8.
Danny Simon, president of The Licensing Group, will be inducted into the LIMA Licensing Industry Hall of Fame. He will be honoured at the LIMA Awards ceremony on June 21, during Licensing Expo.
