Miniso has teamed up with Cartoon Network to present an epic 264 item collection of Adventure Time products in its stores across 62 territories around the world. From Europe to Asia, Afria to North America and South America, the retailer is stacking its shelves with items featuring characters such as Finn, Jake and Lumpy Space Princess. Launching this month as part of a phased global rollout, products will include plushies, stationery, gifts and accessories. In the near future, the collection will add more items, as well as expand to additional territories. Meanwhile, a new wave of merchandise from We Bare Bears will also be in stores. After strong sales during an initial collaboration in 2018, more than 200 new and refreshed items will be available in Miniso stores this month.
Universal Brand Development has secured new collaborations with Posh Paws International and Rainbow Designs. The deals mark a new strategic approach to the plush category in the UK and Ireland for the licensor. Posh Paws is the official plush partner for Despicable Me and Sing franchises, while it also has plush rights for DreamWorks’ Trolls and the upcoming Trolls World Tour in 2020. Meanwhile, Rainbow Designs’ plush offering will span DreamWorks Heritage including Shrek, Kung Fu Panda and Madagascar, DreamWorks Baby, Universal’s valut of classic movie and TV brands, plus DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming movie Abominable.
Italian fashion brand Miss Sixty has given emoji its signature denim treatment, with a new limited edition apparel collection launching worldwide. The icons features across a line of denim and athleisure including hoodies, tees, jeans, skirts and tracksuits, with embellishments such as embroidery, beading and Velcro tear strips.
Bulls Licensing has appointed CPLG as the Moomins licensing sub-agent for Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxemburg.
Egmont Publishing has signed a deal with WowWee for rights to publish a magazine based on its Fingerlings brand.
Animaccord has become the official master agent for new preschool property, Cleo&Cuquin. The initiative is the start of Animaccord working across more animated brands going forward as it looks to diversify its business. It will coordinate all licensing for related CP, traditional media, promotion, digital (including YouTube, apps and games) and more.
Silvergate Media’s Hilda has scored a hat trick of award wins at the 2019 Annie Awards. The brand was crowned Best Animated TV Production for Children, as well as picking up awards for Character Animation and Writing for an Animated TV/Broadcast Production.
Mondo TV has confirmed that Blue Ocean Entertainment has acquired the licence to publish a magazine inspired by Sissi, the Young Empress in the German language market.
Planeta Junior has secured a deal with IMPs to represent The Smurfs in Spain and Portugal.
