DK has created a stand out marketing campaign to promote its new humour titles published with Nickelodeon – Rugrats Guide to Adulting and Hey Arnold! Guide to Relationships. 10 posters with a difference have been installed at 10 sites across Camden, Hackney, Hammersmith & Fulham, Islington, Southwark and Tower Hamlets in London until December 6. Working with Jack Arts, the posters create an immersive experience, playing the Nick 90’s shows’ theme tunes via a motion sensor. Simon Beecroft, publishing director of DK’s licensing division, said: “DK strives to do things differently and reach readers in new ways, and these interactive posters around London will turn heads and should inspire the odd post on Instagram.”
ITV Studios Global Entertainment has secured a deal with Hachette Children’s Group for a range of books based on Top Class, the TV quiz show for kids. HCG will develop a range due to release periodically from July 2019 onwards. Publishing will include a Top Class Quiz Book; Top Tips to be Top Class; and subject-specific Top Class Quiz Books with content focusing on science and history.
Hasbro Studios has confirmed an international deal with Cartoon Network to distribute season one of the animation series, Transformers: Cyberverse to Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
Warner Music Group’s Arts Music division and Sesame Workshop have joined forces to relaunch Sesame Street Records in the US and Canada. The multi-year deal sees Sesame Street recordings available across digital streaming and download platforms, with new compilation titles on CD and vinyl formats.
The Irish Fairy Door Company has appointed WildBrain to produce original content and manage the Facebook strategy for the toy brand. WildBrain will produce short-form content including an original animation and live action videos to bring the fairy world to life.
The owner of Bozo the Clown has signed an exclusive representation agreement for licensing with Beanstalk. Created as a storybook character by Capital Records in 1946, Bozo the Clown was part of a storytelling record album that had a companion illustrated read-along. Actor Larry Harmon purchased the rights to Bozo in 1956 and then franchised the character to local TV markets, with each one creating their own local Bozo the Clown shows. Beanstalk will be looking at a number of categories including apparel, novelties, toys and collectables.
Black White Orange Brands has been appointed as the licensing agent for the Discovery brand in India. The company will represent and manage Discovery’s extensive portfolio including brands such as Animal Planet.
License Connection has been appointed to lead the licensing and merchandising programme for Godzilla in the Benelux on behalf of Japanese licensor, TOHO. The agency will focus on new movie – Godzilla: King of the Monsters – as well as classic Godzilla content and the animated series, currently streaming on Netflix.
