The NFL has appointed IMG as its exclusive licensing representative across select international markets in Europe and Asia. The new deal will see IMG target a range of distribution channels and price points including men’s, women’s and children’s fan apparel, accessories, home décor, fast fashion collaborations and food and beverage.
Rocket Licensing is marking 60 years of The Grinch stealing Christmas this year with a raft of activity. Birthday celebrations for Q4 will include a special anniversary logo and targeted marketing, such as in-store activity, events, press and PR to drive brand exposure. A new Grinch style guide recently launched, while new products will be launching from licensees including Cooneen, Misirli, BC International, Park Agencies, Somerbond, Smiffy’s, Dreamtex, Design Group International and Brand International Group. A limited edition version of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas will also arrive in the autumn from HarperCollins.
Alien Day returns on April 26 – a nod to planet LV-426 from the iconic films – with Fox planning a host of activities. These will include a live streaming event at Fox Studios in LA; a global one-night screening event of the original Ridley Scott 1979 movie and the 2012 follow up Prometheus; an interactive trivia challenge; new product launches; and special reveals. Fox Consumer Products is also partnering with multiple retailers, showcasing exclusive Alien franchise merchandise, in-store activations and social media sweepstakes.
Coolabi has appointed Landmark to represent the Purple Ronnie brand in Japan.
Danger Mouse has been given the nod for more episodes. Due to air on CBBC in 2018, the next instalment of 26 11-minute episodes will follow on from the second series which begins later this year.
Viz Media Europe has appointed CPLG to represent the Doraemon brand in Italy. The agency is now set to develop a broad licensing programme for the comedy/adventure TV show in the territory.
The family-friendly blogger conference and brand ambassador event, FunFest, will return for its third year on September 16. Now entitled the FunFest Influencer Summit, 2017 will see a larger programme of activity and an extended showcase of brands and entertainment properties. In addition, Mimram Media is now co-organising the event with MI PR Global. The event will once again take place at Whittlebury Hall Hotel & Spa in Northamptonshire.
Planeta Junior has inked a deal with Spanish department store El Corte Inglés which will see the Miraculous brand star in the retailer’s Golden Days campaign.
Chaucer Foods has partnered with olive oil brand Filippo Berio to launch a range of baked snacks. Launching later this year, the range will debut with a line of Crostini and comprise of five skus. The partnership has been brokered by Beanstalk.
Meanwhile, Beanstalk was also involved in a new deal between Chupa Chups and Greencore which will see celebration cakes launched for the lollipop brand across the UK and Ireland.
Edutainment Licensing will be exhibiting at the inaugural Licensing Expo Japan later this month. Taking place in Tokyo, the company will be showcasing brands including Arty Mouse, Super Geek Heroes, Tiny Tusks and Flossy and Jim.
Zodiak Kids has taken on the distribution rights for StudioCanal’s Sammy & Co.
