Disney has launched shopDisney, a new one-stop-shop ecommerce destination offering an assortment of Disney, Pixar, Star Wars and Marvel products across a wide range of categories. Launching in the UK, France, Italy, Spain and Germany, new expanded categories have also been added to the online offering, with a focus on fashion and accessories, toys and baby, home, collectables and Disney Parks Collection. Co-branded products and collaborations will also be a big feature on the new site, with upcoming brand partnerships including Cath Kidston and Kipling among others. To complement the shopDisney launch, as part of its strategy to attract new audiences, a number of Disney Stores across Europe will also feature a curated selection of adult product, in particular the new fashion and accessories ranges.
Lingerie brand Undiz is teaming with Betty Boop for a new collaboration. New swimwear, nightwear and underwear featuring the character will launch across Europe this summer.
Rocket Licensing has revealed a raft of new licensees for The Very Hungry Caterpillar as it approaches its 50th anniversary in 2019. Galt, Insect Lore, Bon Bon Buddies, Signature Gifts and Hallmark Cards are all on board with the brand.
Italian design house Pininfarina has appointed IMG as its global licensing representative in a multi-year agreement. The company will now work on branded and co-branded collaborations to grow the Pininfarina lifestyle world across a number of areas including technical sportswear, electronics, car accessories, home furnishings, travel goods and real estate projects.
As part of the 25th anniversary celebrations for the Power Rangers brand, Nickelodeon will air a special episode of Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel on August 28 in the US, the same day that the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers premiered. The special episode will see the Super Ninja Steel Rangers teaming up with a number of the legendary Rangers in order to save the world.
emoji has teamed with the Idilia Foods brand, Cola Cao. The cocoa powder manufacturer has developed a promotional campaign for summer, giving away a premium called ‘batijarra’ featuring emoji icons. The campaign is backed by TV, digital and POS.
Sesame Workshop and Nelvana are set to debut new animated series Esme & Roy on HBO in the US and on Treehouse in Canada on August 18. It marks the first new series from the creators of Sesame Street in more than a decade.
Production company Studio 100 Media has founded its own animation studio in Munich. With workstations for up to 40 artists, Studio Isar Animation will be responsible for CGI work such as modelling, texturing, shading, lighting, FX, compositing and rendering for the company’s own film productions.
