Endemol Shine Group has revealed a series of promotions and a restructure of senior management within its brand licensing division. Endemol Shine Gaming’s md, Owain Walbyoff, will add the group’s licensing division to his remit in his new broader role of md, gaming, licensing and merchandising. He takes over from Frances Adams, who has joined Endemol Shine’s Creative Networks division. In addition, Jane Smith has been promoted to director, brand licensing and strategy. The broader group brand licensing team has also been restructured under clearer category divisions to further grow expertise within each area and drive the commercial performances of the company’s brands in new categories and markets.
Direct bookseller Book People has signed a two-year deal with The Roald Dahl Story Company to produce exclusive gift lines including children’s bedroom decorations and social stationery. The range will launch in September – in time for Roald Dahl Day – and will complement Book People’s already strong range of publishing.
The new Gudetama pop-up at Shoryu Ramen has now opened on London’s Air Street. A special three-course themed menu will be available until April 8 for the Sanrio brand, while there will also be a range of Gudetama merchandise to buy.
Stern Pinball – the world’s oldest and largest producer of arcade-quality pinball machines – has revealed a new line of ‘Legacy of the Beast’ pinball machines which honour Iron Maiden. There are three models – Pro, Premium and Limited Edition – which all include 12 Iron Maiden songs. The deal was secured by Global Merchandising Services, the merchandising and licensing agent for the band.
Bavaria Sonor Licensing has secured exclusive merchandising rights for GAS and Benelux for the Panini brand. The company will initially be targeting catgeories including fashion, accessories, home and living, sporting goods and stationery.
Netflix has confirmed that it will be adding seven hours of antics from the Oddbods, with new episodes of the One Animation property rolling out from this month.
American Greetings Entertainment has teamed with Integrity Vitamins & Supplements for the launch of Care Bears Gummy Vitamins for children and adults. The range will launch in the US in the summer.
APC Kids has appointed four licensing agents to represent its children’s animated series, Kid-E-Cats. European Licensing Company (CEE), Exim (Mexico and Chile), Enjoy (Iberia) and Empire (Southeast Asia) are all on board. Kid-E-Cats has so far launched in 142 territories on Nick Jr since the end of 2017.
YouTube influencer LaurDIY has selected Mad Engine to create a branded collection of loungewear, apparel and accessories. The deal was secured by The Brand Liaison, LaurDIY’s exclusive licensing agent.
Gummibär – one of the most watched animated characters on the internet – continues to grow its licensing programme. A new plush deal has been secured by The Sharpe Company with Seven20 for the US and Canada, with products including plush figural toys, signing and dancing plush and a talking and singing mask.
Genius Brands International has appointed Cindy Elfenbein to the newly created position of vp of global consumer products and retail development.
