CPLG has secured a number of licensees across key categories in the UK for Spin Master’s Hatchimals brand. Fashion UK is on board for children’s daywear and swimwear – with the first ranges due to launch for SS18 – while Sambro is developing a line of arts and crafts and stationery products. The company will also distribute US licensee Wish Factory’s range of clip-on plush. In addition, Zak UK is on board for lunchware, dinner and drinkware sets, while MV Sports will launch bikes, scooters, skates and protection gear, Corsair is developing toiletries and Unique Industries is creating party paperware. Two magazine publishers has also signed up – Immediate Media and DJ Murphy.
Penguin Random House Children’s has revealed that Michael Morpurgo will be writing a re-imagining of Raymond Briggs’ The Snowman, 40 years after it was first published. The new book – part of the anniversary celebrations – will be aimed at children aged seven and over.
Beano is collaborating with the bassist of The Specials – Horace Panter – to give its characters a punk pop art makeover. A new collection of paintings and silkscreen prints of the characters will be sold at a selection of UK galleries, after the original art works go on display for a public exhibition at Beano Studios in London on April 19. The pieces took Horace six months to create in his Coventry studio.
Universal, in partnership with Frontier Developments, has confirmed that Jeff Goldblum will return to the role of Dr Ian Malcolm for upcoming video game, Jurassic World Evolution. The game will launch this summer for PC, PlayStation4 and Xbox One.
